The ‘Pharmacology for Africa’ initiative (PharfA) is managed by an interim steering committee until its official launch envisaged within 3 years. The steering committee consists of key role players in pharmacology on the African continent. Furthermore, PharfA is supported by the International Union of Basic and Clinical Pharmacology (IUPHAR) and the African Regional Office of the International Council of Sciences (ICSU-Africa). PharfA further reports to IUPHAR, while the initiative is facilitated by the South African Pharmacology Society.
